After serious consideration I have decided to seek the office of Cambridge City Councilor. I share with you the belief that Cambridge can be an extraordinary community in which to live and work, but only with continual vigilance from its citizens and progressive leadership from its elected officials.
Cambridge is a great city, but there is so much more that we can do. Critical areas of focus for me include managing Cambridge's growth responsibly while also insuring that it remains accessible to all its families and citizens; remaining vigilant about our environment, expanding education opportunities and working to enable our young people to thrive in our city.
As a Professional Counselor committed to social services I bring a first hand understanding of what services are needed to make our city work and the listening skills necessary to be responsive to its citizens.
As a parent of two CRLS graduates, active in School reform, and a substitute teacher at CRLS, I understand the concerns of parents and the challenges facing our school system.
As a Cambridge Youth Soccer and Cambridge Peace Commission Volunteer, I know what committed volunteers can achieve, and how essential both government and Cambridge citizens are to creating a thriving, vibrant city.
As a computer and database technologist I am comfortable with technology and what it can bring to the management of the city and the life of its citizens.
I have spent my whole adult life learning how to listen, and how to translate what I hear into effective action. Call me. Challenge me. I promise to listen and to understand your issues so together we can make Cambridge an even greater place for families to live.
I am asking you for your number 1 vote.
Thank you for your consideration.

Larry Ward, Ph.D.
